This is my current struggle with epilepsy. I have not always been epileptic. My first seizure was at the age of 23, in 2002, . I was in labor with my second child. After several Dr opinions, and lots of tests, my seizures were a result of a stroke while in labor. My seizures were hard to get under control until Dr’s found the right combination of medications. For 4 years my license had been suspended. This felt like a major loss of independence. After being seizure free for a few years in 2006 I was able to get my license back. Within the last few years I have had mild seizures sometimes multiple within a week, mainly at night, my medication has increased. I have been through many tests to see if I was a candidate for different brain surgeries. In 2015 I was hospitalized for more testing. At that time it was discovered that now I have lesions in various parts of my brain. This condition has not just impacted my life, but also the life of my family. My husband, children, and my parents have become my nurses, motivators, at many times my right hand. (good thing I’m left handed)
